Australia Day

I’m not really one to fuss over the weather given I’m prepared for it – wardrobe wise. I don’t like being overdressed or under-dressed. Having a festive display of cold nipples isn’t exactly my life goal.

In my head, rain and cold weather are ideal to curl up in front of a fireplace and read a book whilst wrapped in a blanket. I just wish I actually had a fireplace. But we all have to work – or at least I do – and that means I can’t suddenly decide to just stay inside the house.

I have a very love/hate relationship with this great city in which I reside in. You see Melbourne is very hormonal, temperamental even. More often than not we see sun, thunderstorms and a cold front in less than twenty-four hours. It’s great and all, especially when the sun is shining and you have beads of sweat dripping down neck and with a click of your fingers it’s time to put your onesie on and jump into bed. Purely because it’s just nice to cool down. But if you’re out and about, well there’s a guarantee you won’t be prepared.

I’m never really prepared. Today it was supposed to be twenty-five degrees Celsius with a few light showers. So me being me, I left my coat at home. Right now, it’s pouring rain with quite a temperature drop and I’m sitting inside the office in a dress.

Isn’t life grand?!

One the other hand, in eight hours I will be departing this horrid weather and venturing west for some much needed sunshine – just the way us Aussies prefer our Australia Day Holiday!
